Don’s the Founder of StartEd Up and the StartEd Up Foundation with a mission to empower students and teachers to actively change education through employing innovation and entrepreneurship in the classroom. He’s a lifelong teacher himself who saw the need for something different for students who lean more towards innovation and entrepreneurship rather than traditional classroom learning and he took it upon himself to develop the StartEd Up program and spread the message speaking across the US.
In episode 38, Don spoke about where his idea for an Innovation class came from in the first place and why he thinks it’s so important, the benefits that students get from working through the StartEd Up model, and some of the struggles they’re facing right now.
In this episode, you’ll hear him talk about some of the cool projects that StartEd Up has funded, his answers to some questions that my mom who’s a teacher had for him, and his definition of success.
