You know the old saying, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”? Well, Aaron Marshall (you might know him as the recording artist Double A) is making a living off of selling vintage clothing and streetwear that he and his parents find in their searches across Indianapolis.
Naptown Thrift started in a small closet-sized storage unit in 2015 while Aaron was a student at Butler when he and his parents realized that they needed a place to store all of their finds from their thrifting adventures. Through word of mouth and Instagram, they grew the storage unit into a business that now has a brick and mortar location in Broad Ripple.
In the first half of this episode, you’ll hear Aaron speak about the background of Naptown Thrift and how his and his parents' love for thrifting turned into a business, some of the things he’s experienced through getting the business up to speed, and a little about his success in Indy’s local music scene and how that has benefited his business.
In the second half of the episode, you’ll hear Aaron speak about all the different channels he uses to find items that he can resell, how big of a part his parents have played in getting Naptown Thrift going, and how a guy who sells old t-shirts defines success.
