Derek Tow is an accomplished media producer who’s passionate about helping others and seeing them succeed in their work. He started his career with an internship at Universal Studios and he’s worked on projects including the movie Monster starring Charlize Theron, music videos for the Dave Matthews Band and Backstreet Boys among other big names, and commercials for many large national brands.
Derek owns three companies including his media production business named The South 40, his camera jib company named Indy Cinejibs – look it up, you know what a jib is you just don’t know what the word for it is yet, and his studio named The Box.
In episode 40, Derek talked about his background and his businesses, how his priorities have changed since he first entered media production, and his advice for those in college who want to pursue a career in media.
